This piece explores the essence of feminine strength, nurture, and connection through abstracted, interwoven forms.  The figure, folded inward yet expansive in presence, evokes a sense of quiet power and introspection. 
Earthy reds, ochres, and umbers ground the composition, connecting the body to whenua (land) and whakapapa (ancestry).  The figure's form - part vessel, part shield - hints at motherhood and protection.  The subtle divisions in tone and shape speak to the many facets of identity held within one being.  
 
This comes unframed but has painted edges and is ready to hang. It would also look so good framed in an oak or walnut tray frame!
 
Signed front and back and sealed with a UV satin varnish.
